Greetings!
The Friends of Spenceville have taken on a new project. In conjunction with Sierra Streams, we are now doing quarterly water quality monitoring in Dry Creek in Spenceville. Water is tested for temperature, ph, conductivity, bacteria, turbidity and dissolved oxygen at Sierra Streams laboratory in Nevada City. We began our new testing regime in April and plan to continue for the foreseeable future. It would be great to have a few more folks aboard to allow us flexibility in staffing.
We continue our quarterly roadside cleanup, and have worked with the Department of Fish and Wildlif planting some native riparian species. There is a wide range of possible future projects, including potential to do some non-native species mapping and possibly organize and begin some removal efforts.
We're always eager to hear from other interested people and groups that value Spenceville as much as we do .
We are incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit.
